Supervisory Public Health Specialist

The incumbent will serve as Chief of the Nutrition Division of the Office of Health, Infectious Diseases, and Nutrition (HIDN) within USAID’s Bureau for Global Health (GH).

The Division Chief performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised and establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. The incumbent is responsible for providing professional and technical leadership and operational management for GH activities and support to Agency and field activities relating to nutrition in developing countries; serves as the Agency expert and coordinator in providing intellectual leadership and focus to initiate dialogue; generates policy recommendations, identifies interventions, and Agency mechanisms, and initiates research activities that will be economically feasible to support sustainable development in nutrition.

Technical Advisor, Level II: Malaria Technical Advisor, Behavior Change Communication

The Malaria Technical Advisor, Behavior Change Communication is a key member of USAID’s President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) team, providing guidance, monitoring, and technical support to USAID at its headquarters and in the field with Missions and PMI country teams, technical counterparts, Ministries of Health, and USAID cooperating agencies.

S/he will exercise independent judgment in planning and carrying out tasks, in serving U.S. Government priorities at critical technical and policy forums, in resolving problems and conflicts, and in taking steps necessary to meet deadlines.

Technical Advisor, Level III: Senior Tuberculosis Technical Advisor

Location: Washington, DC

Assignment: Two-Year Fellowship

The Senior Tuberculosis Technical Advisor (Technical Advisor) will serve in the Infectious Diseases (ID) Division with the Office of Health, Infectious Diseases, and Nutrition (HIDN) in USAID's Bureau for Global Health (GH) with attention focused on USAID-funded country programs particularly, but not exclusively, in the Africa region.

The Technical Advisor will engage in policy dialogue and provide technical assistance to USAID Missions in the design, implementation, and evaluation of bilateral and regional tuberculosis (TB) programs. S/he will also provide technical guidance to selected ID core-funded TB activities. The Technical Advisor will take programmatic direction from the TB Team Leader in ID, and will serve as a member of the TB team, working closely with technical advisors and health staff in ID, the Africa Bureau, and other regional and subregional staff as appropriate. The Technical Advisor will also work closely with other U.S. Government agencies and partners in the international TB community.
